West Coast Wins Worlds!

Here is an email explaining just how awesome the robotics teams did in World Championships last weekend in Anaheim, California. Check out the link to the new challenge and video.  – Coach Jaskiewicz

If you ever thought it was tough to win a VEX tournament in BC or Washington… you were right! If we ever needed proof that teams from our region were some of the best in the world, it came this weekend when there were three teams from our area amongst the final six teams at the VEX Robotics World Championship in Anaheim.
Team 2W, from Gladstone, allied with teams from New Zealand and California to take home the championship trophy, narrowly defeating their classmates, team 2D allied with Exothermic’s team 10B and a team from Hawaii, in the finals.
Other impressive performances came from teams from Cambie Secondary, the defending world champions from team W.A.S.A.B.I., and other Exothermic teams who captained alliances and progressed to their divisional playoffs.
Congratulations to all the teams who made it to Anaheim… if your students are thinking ahead to next year, the 2012-2013 VRC game “Sack Attack” was announced at the tournament. The rules are here and the game video here
