The aim of physical education is to enable all students to develop knowledge, movements skills, and positive attitudes and behaviours that contribute to a healthy, active lifestyle. Our physical education program provides opportunities for all students to be physically active regularly and to develop an appreciation for and enjoyment of movement in the following categories: individual and dual activities, games and rhythmic movement (dance and gymnastics). Physical education is also an integral part of the total education process. Students who participate in regular physical education classes enjoy enhanced memory and learning, better concentration, and increased problem-solving abilities.
Our PE 10 class will stirve to become more physically literate by the end of the course. To be physically literate:
Individuals who are physically literate move with competence and confidence in a wide variety of physical activities in multiple environments that benefit the healthy development of the whole person. (PEH Canada 2012)
